Installing the hardware key
The license of the Dicom Viewer is guarded by a hardware key. Three types of keys
can be provided by us:
- USB
Single license: place this key in a USB slot of your computer. The drivers for this device can be
found on the CD in folder 'Hasp\Device Driver'. You can install the drivers yourself
or simply start the viewer for the first time. The drivers will be installed
automatically.
Network license: the network hardware key has to be attached to any PC connected to
the network; it doesn't matter which one. On this PC, the device drivers have to be installed,
go to the folder 'Hasp\Device Driver' on the CD.
Now, install the License
Manager. Go to the folder 'Hasp\License Manager (LM)' and install the License Manager for
your system. Make sure that the License Manager is always up and running as it will
distribute the startup requests from viewers started on other PC's connected to the network.

- LPT
Same procedures as with the USB key, only this key is for the parallel-/printer port.
- PcCard
The PcCard hardware key is handy for laptop use as it doesn't protrude. The drivers
for the PcCard have to be installed manually. Place the PcCard in the PCMCIA slot of
your laptop. Windows will ask for driver files which can be found on the CD in folder
'Hasp\PcCard'.
Unfortunately some laptops may have some problems with the PcCard; we advise to use Windows XP
in combination with the PcCard.
