Viewer basics 1 to 7
- 1
The viewer consists of two separate programs: the overview window and the
image window.

Overview- (left)............ and image-window (right)
The overview window displays an overview of all Dicom images/scenes found on a CD/DVD or in a folder structure. Size of the icon images is limited, so don't use the overview window for image viewing. It also shows you all the patients found, with the studies and series.
The image window displays a single Dicom image, a scene or stacks.
- 2
Assign functions to the left- and right mouse buttons via the toolbar of the image window.

Left mouse button magnifies, the right button has the measurement tool assigned
and the tool selection for the right mouse button is opened.
- 3
Dicom files can be opened directly from your Windows browser by double clicking them.

- 4
Large Dicom files, especially angiograms, require lots and lots of memory. When you're out
of memory, Windows will use your harddisk as extra memory storage space but this will slow
down the viewer dramatically. See the bar at the bottom right corner of the overview window.

- 5
Use the scrollwheel of your mouse to scroll through images of a scene (image window), or the overview of all found Dicom files (overview window). In the image window you can use the arrow keys to scroll throught the images of a scene or stack (left-right keys).
- 6
Scenes can be saved as AVI and images as bmp, jpeg, tiff or Dicom to use images or scenes for presentations.
- 7
Do not forget to close scenes or images no longer used. They could use large amounts of memory and processor power.
